Weight Loss Thread 2014

That was my concern, but as long as it wont affect my shedding fat I am happy :p

It shouldn't. I have eaten that no bun/condi quarterpounder many times as well as the KFC double down without any effect on my weight loss.

I know it is basically junk food and against the "real food" philosophy which is LCHF, but I still enjoy take aways every now and again and by these things not causing a weight stall, there is no harm done IMHO.

Cool than will be indulging a bit then :)

If your local PnP or Spar sells cooked meals. Get grilled chicken fillets and buy a block of cheddar cheese.

Melt the cheese over the fillet in the microwave if you have one at work.

Otherwise just get an Avo and rotisserie chicken.

Now you see that also sounds awesome...

Ok APoc you twisted my arm, Chicken and avo it is.

Chicken (on the bone) and avocado is a great lunch. You can also plop it on a pre-made leaf-salad and drizzle with olive oil. Healthier than the McDs option suggested, although I'm definitely going to try that sometime haha! :D

Agreed! Flashsa has given me tomorrow nights dinner :D!!!

Most spar's etc sell grilled chicken pieces. I quite like those and my local one has pretty fatty pieces which are great.

Really?

Yes. Was on LCHF for 12 weeks. Lost 10kg. Had a Double Down every Friday night as my treat night. It's no longer available but when it was, it only had 11 carbs in it (1g was fibre). So considering I planned the meal into my day, I was still easily able to fit in under 20g of carbs for the day.

Oh ok, I guess it was the grilled version, didn't even know that it's not available anymore. But damn, I'm having a craving for some KFC now :D

No, it was fried. The mayo had the most carbs in due to it being sweetend. If I wanted to be good, I would ask for it without the mayo / colonel dressing. But most Friday's I ordered that normal fried one and enjoyed every bite. The breading is minor.

I'm back to keto and enjoying bulletproof redpresso instead of hot chocolate in the evenings:

1 teaspoon of redpresso tea & 1 teaspoon of powdered vanilla steeped in a french press coffee maker.
Then I blend it with a tablespoon of cream, a tablespoon of MCT, a tablespoon of butter, and 4 drops of liquid stevia.

I rather like it :)

Tonights dinner:
2 eggs fried in butter
4 pieces of bacon
1 onion fried in bacon fat and garlic
1 avocado

I make the above at least twice a week. One of my favourite combos by far!

Now guys I just got admitted with a kidney stone. Fscking painful!!

Stone was a uric acid based.

Given a diet sheet by doc. Wtf!
Completely anti LCHF.
Not sure if LCHF contributed to to the stone.

Lchf does nothing to your kidneys. I say this as a doctor and someone with kidney disease. 6/12 of Banting and my kidneys are still working exactly as they did before. If I consume more water, my function improves a little and worsens slightly when I don't. As for protein - if I eat too much, it shows up in my urine and I fall out of ketosis in any case.

If I were you, I would avoid the things in the 'forbidden' column in the second picture, up my water intake(again, no real need for 2l, depending on your levels of physical activity) and maybe drop my salt intake a bit, although that's also fairly controversial.

As a major gout sufferer (caused by high uric acid just like in your case) I have always suffered with permanent pain and inflammation in my left ankle. LCHF has completely reversed this and improved my situation dramatically. I really believe that as long as protein intake is controlled (no over binging on animal organs and dried meat) then LCHF is not a contributor to gout or kidney stones.

I hope you are relieved of your pain soon. My dad has had stones and it wasn't pleasant.

Thanks. Couldn't get the stone out. Feeling better now but have a stent in that niggles a bit. Have to return to theatre to try removing stone.

The problem is with high fat you need proteins to go with it. They say restrict meat to 3-5 times per week but that's where my fat comes from!
