Weight Loss Thread 2014

I might have a problem...
Got on the scale at gym, and was shocked to see it at 69kg. Checked at home this morning, and 69kg (and 11.2% BF according to the scale). I'm 1.83m with what I think is a small frame (wrists are 17.3cm) but even then most places I've looked say my ideal weight is around 70-76kg. The problem is I'm never really hungry. Yes, in the mornings I know I need to eat, and same around dinner time, but its not hunger per say. And I cheat (I'm on LCHF) once a week to the point where I'm beyond full, I also eat too much protein at least once a week at braai's. Should I simply try adding a bit more to every meal? I dont want to wither away :p

For some reason (ok maybe it's envy), I find myself thinking of Steven King's book Thinner.

/ evil grin...

Through the 20kg barrier this morning with 21kg down and 14 kg to go to goal weight. More motivated than ever but concerned how long on clothes are going to fit me :-/

Awesome!! well done.
Nothing motivates better than some results.
Clothing can be a pain though, try not to buy too much before you get to your goal weight though.

As I enjoy measuring, tracking, and gamifying my health I've struck a bit of an issue now that my weight is well within the "Ideal" BMI range. I'm aware of its limited clinical significance, but it was a goal for me nonetheless.

Any suggestions on the next metric to look at? WHR looks pretty good, and I'm still doing quite poorly on that one.

Woot!

So I've lost 4kg (82 to 79) in 2 weeks and been maintaining the weight loss for week 3 and 4.
Been losing quite a bit of "size" it seems, a shirt that used to be tight is now looser than ever, pants are also looser around the waist.

Cutting carbs to bare minimum and sugar to almost non-existent.
All about protein, fats and the good veg as per Banting/Tim Noakes.

I still have a great social life with dinner and wine but I'm more aware of what I am eating.
Exercise has also increased during my regular workouts.
I'm doubling up my sets so I would do DB Bench Press and then in between sets do EZ bar Curls and in between Core Twists I would do Squats for example.

Any tips would be appreciated!

While I subscribe to "eat on demand" with keto - I like to keep track of my calories in on fatsecret.co.za in order to get a rough idea of the calorie deficit in order to predict weight loss for the week - which is never accurate but I enter my food anyways.

My question to the keto's / banters / LCHF's is do any of you keep track and how many calories do you ingest daily?

I am on 1800-2000 per day while the app / site suggests my RDI is 3500 as a result of my weight.

I've never kept track nope. My body seems pretty good at it!

Spar had Lindt 85% on special this weekend. Bagged 8 slabs @ R26.99 for the cupboard. It really cures my sweet tooth but I am pretty good and only have 2-4 blocks once a week or so.

Also, Food Lovers has just added macadamia nuts to their assortment of self service tubes. Bought a kg of them today :-)
