Does anyone know what causes this and if it’s repairable? Just started the other day and now I can’t get my daily fix of Paw Patrol and Blaze. IMG_5076.jpg

The panel is damaged somehow, did it get hit?

Not that I’m aware of. The lines go away so it’s normal again, then randomly come back. Sometimes the image freezes and then just for a slow fade to black while the audio carries on in the background.

Vertical colored lines usually show on a TV screen when the T-Con board is not working properly. Many times this can simply be caused from wiring that is not securely fastened. Other times the T-Con Board itself may be faulty and need to be replaced.

Does it do it on all the HDMI ports?
Also does it happen on other sources or is it just on the decoder?

Have had the same issues on 2 of my tv’s, both Samsung. When turning on the tv it would happen about 2 mins into turning on, then it disappears again after about 10 mins. The problem just went away on its own.

Here’s hoping it does the same. As you say it comes and goes randomly. Maybe a good old fashioned slap to the side of the tv will help. (Or not.)

Is that a Samsung TV? I have similar lines on mine but not as many. The lines are there as soon as you switch the TV on. Got the Samsung guys to inspect. It's a hardware issue. They quoted me 25k to fix. Haha.

Jeezus. How much did your tv cost?

55k. Bought it in 2012. It is the ES8000 series. You could buy hardware upgrade kits for the TV every year but Samsung stopped that. Buggers.
