Weird phone call from Telkom

Howsit,

I got a weird call from Telkom last night. It was an automated call stating that in the next 48 hours they will be upgrading the infrastructure in my area.

Has anyone got this call and noticed a change ie speed upgrades or even better fibre?

Yes, I also got the call, so did my neighbour.

Haven't noticed any difference.

EDIT: We both have ADSL.
 
Yup I never answer my home phone and this drove me absolutely nuts because it seemingly doesn't have a timeout and will keep ringing into infinitely.

I did go from 4MB to 20MB about two months later, but it all went to **** immediately after the upgrade first.

In their defence it could have been unrelated and bad timing.

Or an existing issue that just showed itself with the upgrade being down.

I basically had a crossed pair (aka short) on my line. Guy plugged me into another down the manhole and sorted.
