Hi Guys,

thought Id share something weird that I just saw recently

I got a SMS from 083 930 6000 telling me I have successfully authorized the mobixxxi busty blonde service at R50 daily from mobici see T&C
to cancel this service dial *136*5#

:wtf:

then another one

welcome get content, http://www.mobixxxi.mobi/campain/2018-busty-blonde
unsubscribe sms stop to 31801

I immediately dialed the *136*5# number and under option 1 and option 1 again , sure enough it was there:wtf::wtf::wtf:

now Im worried it will pop up again, I did check, my airtime wasnt deducted from.
so first thing I did was report it to https://waspa.org.za/report-unwanted-billing/

next I am wondering where else this might be from? I do run a rooted android phone, running a custom Rom, not sure if this might be where it got my details from?
where else should I check and remove?

I NEVER subscribe to these things, and my phone never gets used by anybody else, so how its possible?

I do have malwarebytes on my phone, and nothing from there got my details, so where else should I check?

Just go to your providers content services and cancel everything, if there is anything at all. For MTN it is *141*5#. It is probably just spam and they might have gotten your number from one off the websites your number visited.

the number has apparently changed now, its no longer *141*5#, its now *136*5#,

but yes, did cancel it almost immediately, and I hope it does not come up on its own,

my question still remains, can it be due to rooted phone it got my number? or is that simply not possible?

Talking of weird subscriptions, Cell C are forever sending me ridiculous text messages inviting subs to their crappy R3/day drivvel

report it, or do what I did, install truecaller and use the SMS feature to not see those messages.
they go automatically to junk without any notifications.

Report it to who?
