I do not mind disagree ing and sacasm but when people think they can pee on me by throwing sexual insults i get a bit hot under the collar

Lance, know when you're driving and you hear a slight sound that's out of place. As time goes on the sound becomes more audible, until eventually it's a loud rasping and knocking of metal on metal, with severe shuddering. At what point do you acknowledge there's a problem?

Incredible that you say that as I was born in the early 70s and I could have sworn I heard that out of place noise from early in my youth... when a friend went overseas and saw posters about not buying SA fruit as it dripped the blood of apartheid, the noise became a little louder.
I never once thought to myself that the transition would be a quick and easy one. I also am not oblivious to the fact that lots and lots still needs to be done. I am, however, fully aware that the process is required. We need the downs to reach the ups. We cannot flick a switch and make it all better.

But if my posts have been taken down I'm pretty shocked. I did not write anything controversial or insult anyone personally I was certainly insulted and harassed for saying apartheid South Africa was worse for black people than current South Africa. This was very badly received. I don't know how the mods justify their actions as I never received any warning etc, but I suspect I'm being associated with someone who got banned for exactly the same reason : simply expecting people to admit that Apartheid was bad and admit it's wrong to dehumanize black people.
I think if I'm banned or censored there should be a better reason on offer than "We don't like your views". Especially when it seems 90% of people made no attempt to put forward an argument as to why I'm wrong. They just insulted me instead. What is this ? Group think. Fascism by numbers.
Heck even if I am someone everyone says I am , shouldn't I have had to have broken some rules for getting banned one of the times ? Is banning me for being a sock right when originally I was wrongly banned without warning ? And when none of my subsequent postings here were disrespectful, insulting or in fact controversial ?
Anyway let's not make it all about me. I deserve the right to an opinion even if I'm not a card holding, fully sworn in ku klux klan member that's all. At least that's how I think a forum about about technology should work. I'm not trying to join stormfront. I should be able to say things like "Life is better now for blacks than under Apartheid." I mean I don't think these things are divisive or controversial ! What's going on ?
And most of my posts this evening have been about cosmology and nothing to do with politics. So live and let live eh ?

No no you get banned for personal attacks. And racial slurs. Your views are your views.
MC is a good example. Nobody agree's with him and we pull his leg but it's his view and how he feels. And I respect that.

Nope, you don't. You get an infraction. I assume repeated "offences" will get you banned.
There does seem to be a lot of grey area relating to what a personal attack is. It seems that the more vague you are with your insult, even though it may be obvious to all reading, the more likely you are to get away with it. An example :
Don't tell someone to just "fsuk off out of the country already" but feel free to tell write "TTFNTYAFO" (which translates to "Ta Ta For Now, Thank You And F**K Off")
I'm not convinced racial slurs get you banned either as I still see a number of perpetrators of the said offence active on this forum. Again, you just need to be a little vague.

If you really want to find out if life is better now than under apartheid, just ask any black forumites here. I'm quite sure most will say yes, yet will state negatives about the current government, like any government or country, things will never be perfect. As a white forumite, I believe what black people have to say on this issue over-rides any of our opinions, since they grew up in apartheid.
I'm pretty sure though that any black guy posting here will have a lot to say about service delivery, crime rates etc but thats to be expected. Its certainly better now that they can get jobs anywhere, can live pretty much anywhere they want to and even visit a beach without being arrested or beaten up. I truly don't believe this government is out to screw everybody, I think they just sitting like a sailboat without any wind, just not going anywhere and no vision. A president with a bit of drive and actions to back it up would be a great start!

Well, i for one think you should be banned, BUT that is not enough reason for you or anyone to be banned, this is not a democracy, clearly indicated by the fact that you are still here. You have called for people who disagree with you to be banned in almost every thread, are you really that surprised that they will now start asking for your head instead?
The mods will not ban you merely for not liking your point of view, and regardless of what lance has to say, I think the mods do a very good job, keeping the forum open and as civil as possible. many people have put forward many arguments why you are wrong, but you will only claim super human intelligence and arrogantly disregard their posts, more often than not with some form of personal insult attached, especially if they are white, hell if you were not so abrasive I would gladly admit that yes, I agree with some of your points, but the core of your personality and blatant hate for anything that is not you totally negates that.
So, will I be sad to see you or lance go? No in all honesty I will not, but if you were to be banned for that reason alone, I would lose some respect for this forum and its moderators, luckily, I know that will not be the case.

I agree, but realistically any black person making personal experience comments about Apartheid would have been born before 1979 (in order to be 10 in 1989, when Mandela was released and Apartheid pretty much disappeared). And that means that they would have been 6 in 1985, when Apartheid was still very present - a bit young, so really we are talking about people born in the early 70's or earlier.
How many black forumites are 40 or older ? These are the guys that would really have experienced Apartheid !
And my main problem with people like JohnGalt are not his views, but the misinformation that he spreads - he is really badly informed, but tries to argue as an expert - in my book that doesn't go down well.

Yes, this is obviously true. But if you were a black poster could you stomach this current affairs forum long enough to want to stick around and defend yourself ? But personally I have asked many black and colored people this question and the answer was as you would expect to find. Some people were insulted i even needed to ask. So it's quite surprising this board sentiments would be so far right winged that they don't even think for black people life was worse under apartheid. This is like an Israeli arguing that the Palestinians are loving their current situation.

What must bite you guys most is that both John and I, and others on this forum, are white and appear to both support parties other than the ANC.
