Hi Theor, yeah - I have had a number of headaches in the past, trying to explain to the people at the iBurst Helpdesk that 100% signal strength does NOT equal 100% upload/download. Gave up - the MWEB techs at least understood what I was saying. Have suddenly had lots of probs past two days, being booted off the 'net, websites not opening. Dunno what's going on.

It is now 3:30 on friday morning and this is the speeds I am getting, so nothing wrong with my signal or equipment the tower here is probably so overloaded that I have to be content with dailup speeds during the day?

@iBurst can someone please investigate the situation with the weltevredenpark tower/s specifically in my case I am near 14thave/ MTN offices

I've posted a query in the network issues thread. But yeah, after having said how stable my connection has been recently, this past week has been pretty cruddy. Speed has slowed and last night was really bad - although I could connect and showed 100% signal, websites either loaded up incomplete, or wouldn't open up at all (Page cannot be displayed errors) - Skype was also as dead as can be. Two nights prior to this, I kept getting booted off the Internet - I'd be working, next thing connection was gone.

Durandal, i'm with MWeb/iBurst too. Yesterday i was having the same issues as you. Also bad SMTP problems (iBurst), but for the most part my POP was working fine (USA based). DNS was down the night before. Today the connection seems much better so hopefully whatever was wrong has now been sorted.

0.8 Mb/s down and 0.25 Mb/s is fine. Wish I had that speed?

Any news on this? to clarify I do get decent speeds if I am online at 3 in the mornings any other time of the day iBurst is barely usable, even now I am getting barely 5kb/s when downloading files or opening web pages.....

Dammit, Ronald, stop asking for examples - just accept that we're downloading porn videos and don't want to admit it! ;-)

You asked for an example well here is a image with my browser opening three pages as well as my second PC connected trough ICS and the little one loading flash games, see the iBurst terminal window for download speeds....

This is getting ridiculous, I have hardly any bandwidth and the latency has become horrible, exactly what am I paying iBurst for?
The contract I entered is I pay you a fee every month and in return I receive an internet connection of decent speed, well I am keeping up my end of the contract but you clearly are not, I would be better off on dailup!
This is an ongoing problem and certainly someone at the company must have skills other than double debiting subscriber accounts!
I cannot wait for my iBurst contract to expire so I can move to DSL as even the slowest DSL is consistently faster than the rubbish I have to be content with at iBurst.
Just getting to the point where I can reply on this thread took 15 minutes.
Here is what happened when I tried to play a bit of online gaming:

You definetly have a problem as the experience is not the norm. Please can you PM your contact details to me and I'll have advanced support speak to you.

Yuk, 3.4 kbps last night at 21H00 trying to download updates for my Sony camera... Estimated time for 113MB file was over 10 hours, so gave up.
