Made Win 7 my priority daily operating system. Vista Business upgraded and not a glitch so far..Much faster as well.

Have dual booted Win 7 but was not using it daily...Will keep up to date here..:)
Cannot wait for the proper release.

We all weep for you, with copies of Fedora, Ubuntu, Kubuntu etc. in hand ...

When my new laptop arrives I'll be installing build 7068 on it from the start (it ships without an OS anyway). Might dual boot with Ubuntu 9.04 though :p

Big Kriss, which version of Windows 7 are you now running?

I would guess the Ultimate version, which weighs in at a hefty $320 US.

Versions:
# Windows 7 Starter (limited to three apps concurrently)
# Windows 7 Home Basic (for emerging markets) ($200)
# Windows 7 Home Premium (adds Aero, Touch, Media Center) ($260)
# Windows 7 Professional (Remote Desktop host, Mobility Center, Presentation mode) ($300)
# Windows 7 Enterprise (volume license only, boot from virtual drive, BitLocker)
# Windows 7 Ultimate (limited availability, includes everything) ($320)

What are the comparitive Vista prices in dollars ... ?
I assume the higher version have everything the smaller versions have - so Professional also has Aero, Tough and Media Center)?

I know the higher Vista didn't have *everything* the smaller versions had :/

What are you guys planning to do come 1 July when the time-limit for the beta runs out?

There's this but does it work/apply to all the other builds of Windows 7?

Dunno if i can ask this, but does anyone have a copy of 7068 64-bit in the jhb area?
I already have a key, just need the install.

I removed it this weekend. Pretty Os but to insecure on a local LAN for me.

I installed win 7 7077 64bit over the weekend and eish, not what I expected :( My DVD drive kept on disappearing so I couldn't install any games or software. I am capped so I couldn't download updates, maybe that was the problem? Anyway I think I'll wait a bit before I re install win 7 again.

OK, so I dwnlded Win 7 some time back, think it's 7068. Can some one advise on this;

HTF do I activate it? Can someone PM me a key for the 64 bit ?/?
When does this build expire? Is it worth dwnlding the 7077? Difference? When does that expire? Killad I'm sure you can help ;)

Xeo i use plus patch for a couple things like removing the water mark and activating it, try this link http://rapidshare.com/files/205074998/W7PP1.0.2.rar

should work with your version. It will activate, remove watermark and a few other things you can decide if you want to install. Download one and wait for the full release, no point changing windows 7 every 4 days :).

If it does not work lemme know i can send it over xfire direct to you.

Hopefully by the end of the month, we'll see a new version which I will download :p and then come the first I'll install it and make sure I get the updates and necessary software for it :)

I am still on version 7000 that I so kindly got from JUGGY. I feel no need to follow all the releases until the final one.
As for the Linux etc post ? Ja well............

Im still very happy after day 2:rolleyes:..No glitches or hangups , all running as smooth as it did previously with Vista Business..

I do somehow find that initial loading is taking forever on start up..My Vista install was pretty top heavy and I simply upgraded to Win 7 over it all..

and I have not activated with any sort of key either !simply upgraded.
