Well that settles it then ...

I'm all about the spaces myself.

And while we're at it, no, Richard Hendricks, you can't traverse a tree in O(logn) time. You also can't in general search a binary tree in O(logn) time either. Dumbass...

Seems the choices are not properly explained.

If you take a new install of visual studio. It auto indents and then you use the tab key if needed.

If you didn't know better, you would say you are using tabs, but you are not. VS is inserting spaces for you instead of tabs. It's a setting on most IDEs. It's just a case of enabling/disabling it.

It seems more like the question is testing whether devs know about this.

What what?? You mean to tell me that people aren't furiously counting and tapping the space bar

So basically companies that enforce standards pay more than those that don't care :p

no spaces, line breaks or tabs for me. If the code can't go into 1 long line and compile, I don't bother. bunch of n00bs using indentation, pffff

Visual studio settings let you choose to automatically convert tabs to spaces. I used to stick with tabs because it was easier to keep code neatly indented.
I don't do software development anymore though.

I can't see how using vim makes you earn more money.
But, then again, I also can't see how anytone wouldn't use vim ;)

If they charge by the hour it's easy to see why they get paid more.
