..just dug around on the Yebo Electronics (fort777.co.za) site; they've got 8mm and 10mm LEDs listed at under R2 a pop. I don't know their shipping policy as I just walk into the Midrand shop, but I see they also have a Bellville branch which may well make things easier all the way down there in (the Independent Republic of) Hout Bay . I'd post the link to the actual product page, but their dynamically generated menu structure won't let me.

If you or anyone else interested, Ive got approx 900 5mm ultra violet LED's wavelength=405nm ; Forward Voltage: 3.2 V - 3.4 V. Purchased 8months ago at which time Mantech & Communica were charging +-R12 a piece!

Very good value, fast shipping and their superbright LEDs are much brighter than anything I could find anywhere in CPT (and a whooooole lot cheaper)

I've already ordered from them several times - am a very happy customer. Their wholesale resistor deals are very convenient too - 5000 resistors for around R180. Even if it's not cheaper than SA, it's mighty convenient to never, ever have to buy another resistor again.
