New observations now show that our sun is traveling slower than before thought. As such, it moves too slowly to generate a bow shock.

"We've now discovered our sun doesn't have a bow shock—it's surprising, and slightly shocking, and much work needs to be redone now," McComas told SPACE.com. "The astronomical community spent the last two or three decades studying something that doesn't exist."

Disgusting. We demand to also have a shock wave.

What sounds familiar? How undogmatic scientists are when it comes to rejecting old theories if new ones prove them wrong? It is wonderful, isn't it.
How scientists can cling on to false hope even if volumes of evidence sometimes prove otherwise. Kinda makes one think of this. So much for the concept of scientists having an open mind and not insisting that something must be when it turns out it wasn't.
