Hi All

Does anyone know where I can get a Western Digital MyBook power cable? Or know what they use? I left mine in Cape Town, and urgently need to get some data off it.

Thanks.

In Roodepoort, I was thinking clearwater...

Thats the problem... dont have the harddrive with me, its at the B&B.... thought someone might have one and can could check.

If it looks anything like this, you're gonna need 12Vdc but, seeing as it's got a drive in there, you're likely to need at least 1amp with that ..more like 3 at least, I reckon. Per this list, which one have you got?

...nm, it takes 12V/2A - now all you need do is find something that'll give you that. Look at DC bricks for small printers or the like; going by the 12V/1Adc that a WaRT uses, I reckon routers are likely to fall short.

Looks like the first pic, except I have the black MyBook 320GB Pro... Blue light in front...

Thanks for the help.

You can (very) likely get a permanent solution to your problem at Laptop Accessories, search for LA1250 on their other products page - that's a 12V/5A device, perfect for your needs and a steal at R200! (ex VAT (man I hate that practice!)) Call them and specifically ask about the size/shape of the connector (be prepared to be VERY patient, English is very much not their first language!)
