hi

does anyone know where i can do an RMA on my Western Digital Hard drive in South Africa

my problem is that i do not know where the original place of purchase is as the drive is second hand...when i did a warranty check on the WD website the hard drive is still under warranty...

It's actually unbelievable how poorly Western Digital supports their products.

I'm also sitting with a WD drive...not shitty consumer drive but a Purple Pro that supposedly has a long warranty which is seemingly utterly useless because WD won't even bother facilitating the process of getting it swopped out.

Their website literally just says RMA not supported for your region and points you to Pinnacle and Tudor one of which doesn't even accept external emails and the other which simply ignores them.

Logging a ticket with Western Digital and you are simply told to contact the distributor for support.

Definitely won't be buying their products again if I can help it.

I won't blame foreign companies for not supporting RSA BEE laws.

If we make it hard for them to exist here, we can't exactly blame them for not fully supporting the country.

Which is fine, but then control your local partners somewhat at the very least or assist in directing a customer to them.

Or you know…don’t sell it here at all if you can’t be bothered.

Try and complain on their social media accounts.

Don't email Pinnacle, call them.
