What an awesome thunderstorm last night! It's just a pity I left all four of my windows open and the bakkie was parked out on the grass ...

What would be the quickest way to get the (cloth) seats dry?

Wet and Dry vacuum clean, suck all the water out that you possibly can then let it stand in the sun with windows open and hope for the best.

Sorry but I had to lol when I say your location........

Let them dry in the sun with windows open as said. Insurance claim is an option if cost effective later once damage established.

Well I went and had a good look and removed the floor mats. It seems that the rain came mostly from the rear of the bakkie. Driver side seat seems to be the wettest.

Thanks for the advice. I was really concerned that I had a small pond inside.

And just be careful of dangerous snakes that could have crawled under the dash - they can be the same color as the wiring !! Yes, left the windows open, did not rain, but found a 'baby' mamba by the pedals !!

LOL... No seriously friends, this was the truth, and a mamba has a very distinct coffin head shape !! Called in the snake park and they soughted him out. LOL...

later when dry, use carpet powder, vacuum again.

leave the windows open as often as you can over a week.

place a stasoft refill(unopened) in the car. something with a strong fragrance like lavendar. this is also good for smoke & other such smells...

I am busy with an old mini cooper rebuild and bought an accident damaged mini to strip for spares. It had no windscreen and the overwhelming stench of cat piddle was nauseating.

scrap yards often have cats due to the rats & mice that dwell amongst the scrap...
