What a time to be using a Mac for work...

for those who might not appreciate a bitlocker key, this is the format

1234-5678-9012-3456-7890-1234-5678-9012

and iirc, it doesn't show while you're typing it in...

I remembered incorrectly

I was about to say at least it's only numbers..but then I remember the ****ery of not being able to see what you type.

FileVault keys are far worse.

Was out doing Mandela Day corporate social initiative stuff today, my work Windows laptop stayed in the car

Back home now, on my MacBook Air which is always such a pleasure to use

Most of us who have supported various linux distros have had to deal with kernel panic among others. I’ve dealt with more of those than windoze blue screens.
Yes but this is a MacOS conversation not a Linux one.

MacOS is after all the best *nix Desktop.

Explains your incorrect recollection.
And how do you feel about it? Does it keep you up at night. You do realise it has always been said in post #33 . What is it you want?

My company is about 18,000 people worldwide and yesterday was a normal working day. I had a few Teams meetings and downloaded a couple of spreadsheets from the cloud. Just my luck, could’ve done with the day off.

I just said it explains your post. One can boot easily into safe mode if one suspends bitlocker first (but that would be with normal Windows working first, unlike this situation).

Anyway, these security software can even break things on Macs.
