So I am close to being able to upgrade.

what are the nice Android phones these days. I like the HTC Desire HD and the HTC Desire Z.

Any ideas?

Wait for the HTC Sensation, should be released next month hopefully.... :-)

I can upgrade in 2 weeks. They both do look really good. I wonder if I will be able to wait that long until they are released

Control your urges buddy :) The SGSII will probably be well worth waiting for.

Sense > TouchWheeze and, from having handled the Galaxy S a fair bit, HTC's build quality is streets ahead of Samsung's. I (still) wouldn't touch a Samsung phone with a barge pole.

I waited for long for the Magic to be released and a month later there was better androids out again. I think the chances of this happening is good again, but the new ones does come with 2.3 which makes me tempted to wait

My bro had the omnia, and that piece of crap put off Samsung phones in a big way

You simply cannot compare those old crap phones to the latest Android phones made by Samsung. They are truly worlds apart.

I'd agree, they are, but they are still not as good as the latest HTCs insofar as either build quality or interface is concerned. Their displays are nice, I'll give you that, but to me tactile feel, UI and longevity are more important. It's not as if the HTC screens are an abomination to look at. ;)

The HTC Sensation? I know...

Depends on what you want, and we will get here. If we don't get the super amoled version then I would say go for the HTC Sensasion. I have a SGS and it fell of the second story of a building on the grass and it is still fine, it doesn't even have scratches on it. Just because it is made of plastic doesn't make the build quality bad. And in my opinion LP>Sense>Touchwiz and you can get LP from the market.

I'm also a HTC fan but if you look at the specs of both, you'd need a big heart to choose the HTC over the Samsung in this case. There's a reason why everyone is raving about it, including all the popular mobile review sites. Build quality is questionable, but to me it makes sense that if a phone is less heavier, then if it falls, it will have less damage than a phone that is heavier. Sure, TouchWiz isn't as great as HTC Sense, but it's not an abomination to look at ;)

True.

ok, so it seems that for me at least at lot will depend on when these phones will be available.

Anyone know where to get a reasonable idea of release time frames? I know the published estimates will probably be delayed by a month or 2.
