What are packet switched data calls??

Hi.

I received a ludicrous invoice from mtn and would like to know exactly what it is i'm spending ludicrous amounts of money on. It said that I'd spent R1000 on an item called 'packet switched data calls'. Is that for things like face timing??

Its for data usage, when you using the internet/WEB on your device. This includes facebook, Whatsapp etc.
