Devs seem to be constantly tinkering on some personal project.

What's your current (non-work) project?

Nothing. I have been doing this for a very long time, and have never been interested in “personal projects” myself. I do a fair amount of interesting stuff at work, get to decide what tech to use and what to work on, so have never found the need.

I consume information by the gigabyte however.

Crypto trading bot. Started out in java but going to start from scratch and use Kotlin (as I'm keen to learn Kotkin). Time is against me though...

My personal endeavours tend to focus on either research (for study) or enhancing "stdlib" frameworks that we use in our income projects.

I'm ATM busy with a .x update of the base functional frameworks we employ (sorry not open sourced as yet) across C#, Java, Kotlin, Rust, Swift -- all of which (where possible) share a very similar API... some languages are just easier than others with the plumbing.

Naturally some of the ideas from these "stdlib" endeavours has served as source material for some of my functional threads on MyBB; which in turn is a bit of a test bed for customer training (re familiarisation with our FP code-sets).

Busy playing around with a ChatBot (NLP, Data analytics software, Telegram, ...)
It currently looks at some data and you can have basic conversations around it.

Quite fun these things.

These are quite simple if the company has the right APIs, but so few SA companies do...
Not busy in the cryptosphere myself but have built some of these for trading on Stock Markets.
Eventually you just give up on SA brokers and go to the US.

agreed. we're in the stone age with most of these services. you'd think they'd be the big innovators
