Hi!

So we are a one car family of 3 (two adults and a toddler) that is soon expecting a baby :)

Currently we are in a C class. Love the brand!

With more space needed my question to all of you is...

Should I get the new B class or the new Fortuner?

All advice is appreciated!

Thanks

The Fortuner is going to rob you of the driving dynamics and comfort you used to enjoy with the C Class, unless if you had other plans for the Fortuner I would recommend the B class as it will more than satisfy your space requirements.

Will both need a pram? Because if not won't your car be enough for most occasions? Only time it might be an issue is when going on a holiday but we're in a similiar pickle and we're just looking to get those roof-top boxes.
So two kids equals two car seats which leaves no room for anyone else in the back. But only way you'll get around that is a 7 seater or MPV. Or the Fortuner.

If you are considering the Fortuner, just remember you have to factor in the medical costs of a full frontal lobotomy.

B is not bigger than C.
Stick with the C and manage with space.
On long trips u can always put the wife at the back and pram in front

Passenger space will be similar, but the moment you go from a 3-box sedan to a 2-box wagon or SUV you get a luggage compartment you can stack to the roof. It might not be clear on paper, because manufacturers only specify luggage capacity up to around window level, but it makes a big practical difference.

The depth of the B is almost half of the C. So yes you can go higher, but comes to the same thing.
The B is also a crappier drive than the C, much higher, less power....
Wife owned a C and after it was written off, changed to a B.
But we (I) prefer my BMW 3 series on long trips

Are you referring to interior space or boot space?

The B Class isn't much bigger in terms of space.

C Class 480 - 1510 L Space up front is generous and rear room still a little tight compared to rivals.

B Class 485 - 1545 L Rear legroom is impressive, and can be increased further at the expense of boot space.

Fortuner 200 - 1080 L

If you really want the extra space, look at something else like V Class, Tourneo Connect, E- Class Estate, Caravelle

Fair; I'll concede the point to your experience with both. The general sentiment will hold depending on the cars being compared though - the amount of luggage our 3008 will swallow is quite something.

Only one will need a pram. Will look into the roof box option. We very seldom have someone else wanting a lift so the two car seats might be fine.

Thanks for your reply.
