Hi All

I am looking for software that recognises PAR2 files and does not download them unless it is required.

i.e if the multiple rar files download with out errors then it skips the par2 files, if they have a small problem and required 2 extra blocks, it then downloads only the par2 files required to repair those 2 blocks. and then for a bonus even repairs the rar files.

Does anything do this?

I believe that SABnzbd does this, but it is not clear. no real good documentation. I am looking to see if anything else does this?

p.s. It is really sad that I even have to ask this question, but with limited bandwidth......

Quickpar uses par2 files to repair other files. It does not determine which par2 files, and how many it needs, and only download those.

If downloading a DVD image, for example, the par2 files can be a rather large chunk. I do not want to spent the banwidth or time waiting for all par2 files to download, if I do not need them.

I want the software to download only as many as it needs to fix the binary file.

I sometimes do this manually, but the automated process would be easier.

SABNZBD does this for you, but I was looking if anything else does this. Maybe something a little friendlier.

The new newsbin does move the PAR files to scratch when u add the nzb so it doesnt waste the bw.. but then u have to move then from scratch to dl list if the files corrupt
