Telkom said today (after 28 days of waiting) that there are no ports in the area and I will have to wait until 31 October. We have a techy that we stopped a while back that said he would assist in us getting ADSL we called him on his cell, he said they are talking crap there are ports. (for our area)

He will get back to us within the next few days, what can we really do if Telkom says 31 October like the helpdesk said?
I am in Sonstraal Heights (next to Durbanville), Cape Town.

Guess Sentech is the only option then
 
1 Day left until 31 Days as Telkom promised.
 
I got told 23rd of August. So I phoned the "technical" helpline and the guy said it shouldn't really take that long and I should phone back in 4 weeks.

k 4 weeks is better than 8 but still. 4 weeks for something that in the uk is what .......a 24hr service?

I called that number, it currently just redirects you back to the normal 1021X installations numbers.
 
i called to have my line installed about 2 months ago. they said the waiting period was about 4-6 weeks.

i waited 3 days and called back and told them that if someone came before the end of the week, they'd get a free bottle of wine.

worked well. *thumbsup*
 
Just called them regarding my installation, they are going to call me back they say.
