what can i get for my pc

Probably around 10k if you exclude the G710 and Monitor.
But that's a rough estimate using late night in the head maths.

Awesome pc! It comes with uncap 10mbs :D

// love it

my ass itch for the new skylake ones
so want to know how much i can let this go for,was hopeing for 11-12k :P

and hope they get OEM for 6700k soon,so i can save on that, and have spare money got a better gpu

also saw a benchmark with a 3770vs6700 in gta5 and the gains!! are awesome, now i want it even more

Why not just sell the Cpu/motherboard/Ram then?

The GTX970 should already be sufficient enough, then go from there. You won't get the performance without the graphics card...

And whatever performance gain the 6700k can give you, won't compare to just getting a bigger GPU.

i know that, was thinking if getting a 980ti ,but need to pay in 6000 for it

then get the 6700 when OEM comes out in a few months,

but dont know if its worth the money :(

oced my cpu a bit more,as i gotten new paste and the temps droped a bit :)
also gotten my gpu to oc to 3985mhz on mem and 1509mhz on core all stable

playing gta all maxed out aa x4
advanced setting all left out
getting around 65-75fps in town, and 50 in the grassy arias

the 970's vram really hold it back

would like to bump up the aa to max and the advanced setting
and still get 60fps+

saw a vid where just changing from a 3770 to a 6700 gained like 15-20 fps

another thought i gotten, wouldn't it be better to get a 5820k,as the 2 exstra cores will help me more in future games
and it cost around the same price atm

so many things to think of

You decide if it's worth it...

For me your current rig is still very powerful with the 970 holding the cpu back

i been thinking of skylike but just lightly
but i saw that vid,and the gains esp in gta 5

that made it a real option to look at,the 980ti upgrade is cheaper and will prob see a higher fps gain

as the 6700k cost 5200+2500 motherboard R7700

after i get the 980ti and save up more, and around next year,OEM sould be out by then 2500-300 for cpu and by then new motherboard better and cheaper will be out

"For me your current rig is still very powerful with the 970 holding the cpu back"

what do u mean, saying the cpu can work faster if there are a gpu thats faster

or the gpu cant work faster as the cpu to slow?,think u mean the 1st one as gpu load is 99%

I mean the cpu has plenty of reserves left so if you pair it with a 980ti it will work faster/harder. What's your cpu usage like while your 970 is at 99%? I doubt it will be much over 50% if that.

Me I would get a better GPU now and a new cpu/mb/ram in a years time or so, pretty sure PotterH will have some skylake bargains by then :D

Then again nvidia is also bringing out their Pascal architecture stuff next year...

:P my bad

yah potter have good prices, hope fully there will be a 6790k at that time :p

dont see why intel wont do it,as they always make a higher one after the sales of the 1st one drop to scoop in more money

havent checked that,i just have the cpu temps on the "on screen display"

i will check tonight,

Keep in mind you can either list all 8 cores/threads or just the average of all 8 threads. I got mine setup for average else there's to many lines displayed.

With 2k minimum for just the motherboard, it looks like they made Skylake for another market.
Don't think this is the best time to go that route just yet. I just have a feeling a lot is gonna change in 2016.

Btw looks like you Oc'ed your CPU, it's definitely not your cpu slowing you down. Try running it on stock for a small while and see what happens, if you get a drastic or minor reduction in fps.

You could also check out the AMD R9 390x as an option, it's got the extra VRAM and is a little cheaper. But the Nvidia cards are better in my opinion.

I'm running a Sandybridge CPU configuration and grabbing a GTX 970. Looking at upgrading the CPU, Motherboard and RAM when there are a few more Skylake options available in SA. There are only 2 options atm.

While we're on the subject. I would like to ask a similar question to the OP. What would the below PC be worth (approximately) was bout around 4 years ago.

CPU: i7 2600k
Mobo: Asus ROG Maximus IV
RAM: DDR3 16GB Hyper-X
GPU: MSI GTX 660 Ti
Case: Bitfenix Prodigy M-Atx

Going to keep my PSU, cooler and drives.
