Heck well, no complaints about Gainward [all GPU card manufactures are the same] and if it's 1.7k for a 1GB 9600GT and the specs are identical to the 512mb versiom ie: same clock/RAM speeds. Then I all honesty I can't think of a reason why not to get one!

I wasn't calling you a noob, it was purely a tongue in check statement on behalf of the marketing reps.

Ye if the 1GB is the same price, sure get it, but if the 512mb is even cheaper, then save yourself even more cash, cos there is absolutely no reason to shell out more for the 1GB.

Every chip OC's differently, so reviews are absolutely no way to determine whether 1 card will OC better than another.

Yes, apart from specially binned chips, XXX, TOP, BLISS etc..
they are all from the same batch of chips that are produced, ..however in those batches the chips vary (as do CPUs), ..they don't all OC to the exact same point.

A lot of reviews state that you're not guaranteed to be able to replicate their achievements.
