Ja, watch out. Sometimes you see ads for DSTV for something like R600. I would guess that is the stripped down version of the decoder. It sucks specially if you want to split the output to the bedroom tv's using rf instead of av. Then you need to buy a modulator to add onto the decoder.
I don't know what I've got, but my decoder has 2 scart outputs and 2 AV outputs, and I'm using all of them. One to the AV receiver, 2 to each of my 2 vcr's (yes, I gotta switch to DVD RAM!!) and one to the bedroom.
I've heard rumours years ago already that Multichoice is planning Dolby Digital broadcasts? Anyone know anything about this? I'd be delighted cause the compression currently is sometimes quite obvious if you are listening in stereo/Dolby Surround.
