What car do you drive?

I personally thing the ford was not designed to be a track car or a more refined car its a typical american car straight line fast.. and does crazy things in the corner a mini muscle car.. I've yet to see a american car that is on par with handling with the german counterparts... but i suppose if you want crazy car then ST is the way to go if you want refined the GTI the way to go

Doesn't really matter what it is, FWD will never make a great track car.

I'd also hardly call the ST "American". It's as European as they get.

1) 2010 Kia Cerato 1.6 MT.
2) Wanted a reasonably sized car that would last a while and that had the bear essentials (AC, PS, ABS etc). It was a C segment car for the price of a B segment car at the time.
3) I still like how it looks and it hasn't missed a beat.
4) Even though I am very happy with it I do like cars and there is an itch. But then there is the fact that it is paid off and will last many more years and I am trying to by a house atm. Having a good look at the 2016 120d.

4. Anything other than a Volvo. Maintenance is expensive.

Are the parts the expensive bit on the Volvo? I find Audi expensive even when they share similar parts with VW.

E.g. A Golf 6 1.4T vs Audi A3 1.4T but parts, labour from Audi can be up to 30% more than VW.

1) What car do you drive?

2010 Audi A3 1.4TFSI

2) What was the purpose of its purchase?

Daily drive, comfort, safety and economy

3) What is your favourite thing about your current car?

Fuel economy (6.5 l/100kms) average in last 2 years
Comfort
Easy to maintain. After 135 000kms. Only water pump replacement

4)What would you buy next and why?

Probably another Audi or VW small turbo engine because of brand dealership support, parts availability.

This is weird. According to those in a the Audi thread a A4 or A3 costs the same as a Polo to maintain.

Didnt you have a 335i?

1) What car do you drive?
2011 Ford Focus ST

2) What was the purpose of its purchase?

To drive a vehicle that I enjoyed. It is my daily drive so it needed to put a smile on my face.

3) What is your favourite thing about your current car?
The 5 pot engine. Had the ST250 and really didn't get the same rush I do from the ST225. Handling is immense.

4)What would you buy next and why?
Focus RS. Its an RS... :)

The Audi A3 has been my daily drive and BMW E93 335i (now replaced with F83 M4) is occasional drive.

I've been servicing my Audi A3 out of motorplan (over 135 000kms now). I compared cost for replacing water pump, brake pads and found them to be more than VW car. On Monday I did 135 000km oil service. One Audi dealer quoted me R2500 while another one was R1900.

Now you talking...Drift mode!

:D

But seriously, the Focus RS has “Drift Mode”

The ability of the twin-clutch all-wheel-drive system to channel up to 70 percent of the RS’s torque to the rear wheels, and then up to 100 percent of that output to either side to enable torque vectoring, makes it relatively easy to persuade the Focus RS into power oversteer. The secret is then making sure enthusiasm doesn’t get the better of limited experience.

And it dances nicely
