Chronic undercharging will cause the white residue on the negative terminal. My Intellipower 4 was no longer lasting for a loadshedding session. Bought 2 new deep cycles today and when I opened the trolley, this is what I saw. Batteries are just over 3yrs old. What causes this? Just end of life?

Inverter to blame?Chronic undercharging will cause the white residue on the negative terminal.
I'm not so sure about this. Ive seen lead sulfate on thousands of batteries and in my experience it has little to do with undercharging. Most of those batteries where being charged fine and went on to have typical lifespans.Chronic undercharging will cause the white residue on the negative terminal.
