What cellphone make is the best?

I know everyone will never agree 100% on one make. I have used a lot of Nokias, some with no issues (the older models), and some with a lot problems. I have now owned a samsung d900 for 2 years, and no problems at all, except the keypad isn't working good anymore, due to a lot of sms'ing. I also had 2 motorolas without problems, and sony ericson with a lot of problems.

So what make do you think is the most reliable? I talking about the more plain everyone phones, not the hi tech business ones.

Ps, maybe if a mod want to add a poll?
 
I would definitely say in terms of quality, Nokia is at the top. The build quality of the majority of their phones is brilliant.

I would definitely keep away from Samsung. (Although the new Omnia HD looks AMAZING!!!)

SE is ok.

Say no to Motorola...

In terms of OS's, I think Symbian in terms of reliability is the best I have seen, followed by Windows Mobile for functionality, and then iPhone's OS for sheer fun-ness.
 
Yes I have seen those Samsung's they are awful (the one's I have seen) They snap in half, the paint is the first to go, it all chips/peels off so easily. Their OS is not very good at all, and they just feel plasticky and cheap.

The New Omnia runs Symbian, hopefully it will be here by September...

Okay, well I cant say that I had quality issues with mine. But as I said, we wont agree 100% on one phone.

Any other opinions?
 
On GSMArena HTC is rated highest (Design/Features/Performance) - with Nokia the brand drawing most interest. Reliability is not rated/ranked.
 
I had a Samsung D900 for 2 years, and my wife had it for almost 2 years after that, and it worked with NO problems. The Sony Ericssons we have had have worked just as long. The latest Nokias on the other hand feel brittle and plasticky. I suppose its just a matter of luck ;)
 
+1 for nokia. They only do phones and they do them well. Sure the iPhone and some htc are great but for some reason i always go back to a nokia s60 device
 
Well so far Nokia wins? I dont need a phone with a lot of features. Sms, mms, email, browsing, and then just the normal, camera and so on.
 
I got myself a Nokia 6210 Navigator as a backup for my iPhone & I'm really impressed with it. Big screen for such a small phone and it can do everything a N96 can do....well, same OS running on both, just doesn't have wireless.
 
What is your budget???

As far as Nokia, at the moment I would DEFINITELY go for the N79.
 
There are so many nokios on the the market....and they do exactly the same thing. LOL

Just pick anyone, won't really matter.

I think that'll be a bit out of my budged. It'll be on a mtn contract, upgrading July. My current contract cost me, calls and everything included R60 to R100. So I was thinking of getting a contract, anytime 100. Most of those go for R79 per month. So no I wont get a top of the range phone. But I'll check out some of the offerings and decide on that. One thing I like about my d900, is the screen quality. It's just superb, even if I compare it to my mom's n70.
 
Stay away from Blackberry. I have used or had 4 of them and broke 2 by just being so upset with them. They are the worst if you drunk and forget the password or pin. the resetting (erasing) of the phone is just the ultimate bull!! I smashed it against a wall twice. Differrent phone. I would say Nokia are the best phones. I have not used Erikson phones in years!! I hated them for not being too user friendly and hard to get used to if you not an Erikson person. making a simple call or saving a number used to be a drag and I would delete numbers accidentally. Nokia is the best by far. i have a Blackberry and it has some JV error. I lost all my contacts and important emails and messages.
 
I reckon you should go for the Nokia 6300. My sister, mother, girlfriend (and both her parents) have it and love it.

It certainly is not an advanced phone by any means, but it does all of the usual sms/call/email functions and if you install Opera Mini, you'll be able to browse the net very easily (although the phone doesn't have 3G access).
 
I got the Nokia 5130 XpressMusic phone and I bought an 8gig Micro SD.....

Works really nicely and looks cool.
