Just want to satisfy my curiosity and find out if there are different/better options available to me. So, if you just state your line speed, local/international, shaped/unshaped and cap, I'd appreciate it.

Mine:

Line Speed - ADSL384 .... Unshaped 4gig.

*Edit - how many hours (on average) would you say you play on Live per month?

/hmmm, whats this? grandmaster?! *faints* :D

Congrats Grandmaster! :D

I use Vodacom HSDPA and it has not let me down yet!
I dont play online alot though.

I also use vodacom hsdpa. some days i can download content at lighting speed, other days it crawls along, guess it must be the microsoft servers or something.

for live the local issue is more the upload speed. 128kbps = 4 connections.

In other words 384 is fine as a client, but if you want to host you can have maximum 4 peeps before you get issues. 512 with 256Mb upload = 8 connections, 4mbps/384-640 can host 12+ players.

I found a trick with the vodacom hsdpa...
Do not connect through the SP software i.e. Vodafone taskbar button.
Connect through the Windows "connect to" function...it increases speed significantly. :D

Wow, quite a varied amount so far ... I wasn't expecting that. I should have added how many hours on average do you play a month huh.

I'm using Vodacom HSDPA 1.8 at the moment. Since I very rarely game online and only use it to download content, it's perfect for me. I downloaded the Mirror's Edge demo over the weekend in about 4 hours... not TOO bad, considering it's size of just over 1GB.

How much did that demo cost you

Like you, I use V3G for the odd Arcade game here and there, but don't play online - would never dream of downloading a demo though!

Cybersmart 384 oneprice - unshaped + Knightrider = 3-6Gb for R300 /month @ 300ms int latency :D

Doesn't it suck that you can't schedule downloads on Live? If you find a way which isn't TME let me know.

Doesn't affect me that much really, I usually play through to about 2am anyway, so I jsut queue everything up before I start and it kicks itself off when I stop playing.
