Is it value ie bottle of whiskey or TV?
Is it when ie before a large order / tender / December holiday?
Is it a physical gift ie tablet or voucher or cash EFT?

Just wondering at what point things would be looked at or deemed to be bribery ; and when it could simply be a thank you for the past business or a sale?

Depends on if you are a cadre or not. In some circles Eskom tenders with massive kickbacks to get good favor with the Gupta clan is considered above board. So a bottle of Bells.... meh. Not so much bribery.

Depends where you are, a bottle goes a long way in the oosrand.

Bribing in my perspective is an illegal contract, under most circumstances a verbal understanding by exchange. Then there is the incentive… which by no means constitute bribery.

I’m not going to get into examples.

At my work any gift over R400 must be returned
< R400 normay only promotional gifts.

If at any time in contract negotiations / Supplier will be disqualified.
No cash / or items, except if the product supplied is for testing purposes e.g supplier of tablet giving it as part of testing in the product - and then it is part of company not individual.

etc.
Register of all items is kept.

If a discount is given on a product, the discount must be available to all staff.

Most companies have a hard limit on gift rand value. So no gifts over R500 for example. As it sounds like this is the context of your question.
