Hi,
Ever since I had FTTH installed on Monday this week I have been having issues. Frustrating..
I can authenticate fine to Vox and obtain all the necessary IP's for gateway, dns etc but there is no data incoming. I cannot even do a simple dns query.
If I disconnect from Vox so that I am no longer authenticated I can then do DNS queries but obviously cannot access the Internet.
The Vox contractor who did the install of the free wifi modem got it to work by restarting everything, authenticating(which has the same issue above) and then pulling out the ethernet cable for a couple seconds and then plugging it back in. Suddenly it started to receive data. This was short lived however because as soon as he left I tried power cycling the router he just configured and it was back to the same issue.
Obviously I don't want to have to keep fiddling with the ethernet cable each time to get a connection working after a power cycle. Vox also seem clueless. This to me is not acceptable.
Do you think this issue has something to do with the ONT fibre device from Frogfoot or more on ISP(Vox) side in authentication ?
Has anyone else experienced similar issues ?
Thanks.
Edit: Just to add that the method used above of pulling out the ethernet cable after restarting everything doesn't always work.
