What could we do to speed things up?

My friend and I have a 350 gig monthly cap and being supplied via 2x 4mb Telkom ADSL lines. We use about most of our cap during 09:00 – 16:00, Monday to Friday. Streaming video and web browsing take up a bulk of the usage.

Given that there are approx. 20 working days in a month, we therefore use about 17.5 gigs a day (and roughly 2.5 gigs per hour). (350 gig / 20 days) = 17.5 gig / 7 hours = 2.5 gig per hour.

The problem is that the speeds are WAY too slow... bordering on narcoleptic and most probably illegal under the Geneva Convention for treatment of war criminals.

Is our requirement of 2.5 gigs an hour beyond the current network capabilities in South Africa?

What could we do to speed things up? (Get more 4mb lines maybe?)

Geezuz what kind of web browsing will chomp through 350gb a month along with streaming video?

If this for a business or personal use? Maybe get business uncapped accounts for like 2.5k

There is a mixture of about 45 LAN and 15-25 wireless connections.

It's business mostly, but personal stuff goes through as well.

I can't mention any names, but their mascot is a flying pig.
As far as I can recall, the lines are bonded.

It's a mac based server. Someone suggested that the reason for the speed could be a server issue. (Not enough RAM)

Call techconcepts and tell them to quote you on a 3port bonding solution:

UNGRATEFUL INGRATE!!! (Tongue in cheek) in my youth a fax was a wonderfully fast piece of equipment.

I agree. The mac based server is the problem :D

Switch over to Linux and your problems would be a thing of the past ;)
