What defines a develper?

Yes, the USA seems to treat "engineer" and "developer" as equivalent (at least in the software space). No level is implied by these terms alone there, only that they are hands-on or "individual contributors".

The ones I can think of is you have to think of yourself as a bit of a god and also think that every bit of coding you come across that was not done by you is an absolute mess.

O and you have to constantly complain that companies doesn't want to pay you what you are worth. :p

You are probably working for the wrong company then :D
 
Its simple.
There is a inverse ratio in the consumption of beer to coffee between being a programmer and a developer.
That and you cannot call yourself a developer until you have had at least one sense of humour failure.

My title is Senior Integrations Developer, and was once Systems Project Engineer, but when asked by a family member - its just so much easier to say Computer Programmer.
 
A developer is a person with the unique ability to convert caffeine into working code.
