I have a 50" Samsung LCD in the lounge, and I want to set up a 42" Samsung LCD in my bedroom, a 37" Samsung HD in the "inside" bar, and a 32" Samsung HD in the "outside" bar (the lapa..approximately 25 mters away from the house.
I asked a reputable company for a quote, and they offered 2 options: First option with "normal" contacts at +R6500.00 and second option with HD contacts at +R10000.00.
This seems a bit exorbitant for me....the labour alone was +- R3500.00.
I also went online and checked the prices of the materials that they had quoted, but being a bit of a techno-idiot, I am not sure whether I am comparing apples with apples!
The materials required, as per their quote, are:
3x Wall mount brackets
co-axial cable
male and female plugs
Set back amplifier
Four way splitter
Multi-adapter x 2
f-connectors x 6
Add on unit x 2
remote blaster
RF Modulator (was advised that this might not be needed)
Conduit, 90 degree bends, straight connectors and extension cable
Has anybody got input in terms of 1)whether the pricing is realistic 2) all of the listed materials are required 3) where the materials should be used (installed) 4) where I could possibly get a more competitive quote???
