What do you all do with Linux?

For me, the deterrent is cost. Yes, I can pirate XP or Vista, but then I never feel really secure, or good about myself. And I would constantly have to wonder if some security update is going to break my install.

I now have ease of mind in knowing that I am using a free, stable and a viable alternative OS, without any worries at all. And if I really have to use that one Windows app, then I can use it in Wine, or some other interpreter that is available free of charge, though since the switch, I have never had to.

Gaming for me is a moot point, as I have my PS3, and then also I emulate SNES on my laptop, which is also running Ubuntu.

My brother has also converted to Ubuntu, and yeah, his PC is still going, whereas before he broke his Windows a few times, and he is unable to break Ubuntu, so win! =D

Add what all the other guys above said, and yes, you have a good piece of software.

It's the little things.
1. I can middle-click a a window on the taskbar to close it just like in my browser (Provided by KDE3).
2. Compiz. Cube. One Maximised window per desktop. Nuff said.
3. Select text with the left mouse button, paste it with the middle. I laughed silently when I saw a friend select some text, right clicked on it, chose copy, right click on another window and then choose paste to do the same (Provided by X everywhere).
4. The console. I've always been a fan of the console, even during the period when I was using windows I spent a lot of time there, but the tools available on a default Linux install are just beyond belief.

I saw a forum posting asking for some help with code on sorting a a textfile with a list of names alphabetically and outputting this to another text file. Using only tools on a default install it'd go something like
sort textfile > newfile

5. There's more, but they've become so ingrained into my workflow that I've forgotten about them. It's much like trying Linux after using windows for ten years. You miss something that you've taken for granted. Which is why everytime I use Windows, I groan a little bit.

But that's just me.

Do not think your pr0n will not find you out!

There are more than a few places you have to wipe if you want to stay under the radar in Linux.
Of course we know you have to empty the cache, but have a look at ~/.thumbnails

Oh dear...
