Looking at my mom and dad, all they ever do together is go out drinking with friends twice a month.

Other than that they don't even eat together, yet they are happy - I guess.

Wondering what you guys do? After a certain time spent together do you guys just learn to live with each other and do your own thing?

My fiancee and I watch movies/tv together, go out with friends, we just talk sometimes, go out with each other, used to game together occasionally when I had a PS3, but there are also times where we are together but doing our own thing.

Was waiting for this one :D
Any luck yet? Or are you just too good at "practicing"? :p

Four beautiful kids but that does not prevent us practising for more while knowing it would never happen.

Seriously tho we just carry on living for each other and our kids, content for what life offers. It's an uphill battle and struggle for most but I am sure you will find out sooner than later. But it was/is an experience I would swap for nothing in the world. Lots of money and fun does not always mean love and happiness and although your parents seems "docile" in your eyes for some couples the fun is being together and experiencing life with each other and the kids. Thus it means you are "busy" most of the time

hmm, kinda expensive after a while.
Practising making babies!
Eww dont wanna think about my parents doing that.
Really? Isn't that boring?

We recently started going to guest houses for an evening, would also buy deals from sites like Daddys Deals. We also enjoy going to Artscape and enver turn down free tickets (we are cheap skates.

But we have now bought our first house and most of our time together has been looking at what we can do with regards to upgrades for the house. Might sound boring but we are enjoying it.

cook together when we can.
We both love tv series and enjoy watching them sprawled on each other on the couch.

Drinks together on the patio, drinks together with friends.

We also dont see each other much during the week due to sports commitments, so we generally see each other properly thursday to sunday. Which actually works out nicely

Braais at the dams...If I'm at the driving range, she know when I need a smoke or beer and organize....
Same applies when I'm in the surf...
When she cooks, Sat night...I'll do the wine bit and play the most sentimal love songs on guitar......
So, Sunday at the golf course, I'm the only happy chappie!

This is a good thread. We also do the cooking thing, but decided we want to take up golf. Neither of us having played before, we figured it could be fun starting on even par (no pun intended) and just enjoy each other's company.

Keeping that spark alive and making it last forever!

We schedule&plan things ahead that way on weekends we don't plan activities like ladies night out, very much open on the foundation of our relationship, recently tried out swinging, dodging I didn't initiate it at all she did.

I am always the type willing to sacrifice and try new things and that new experiment went according to plan, the relationship sparkle is there, communication, etc.

Back when we were together, we`d play video games, talk for hours on anything, from psychopathy to nuclear physics...Was tons of fun

We dont have the same interests so we don't do things together, he does his thing and i do mine but we braai or cook food, have drinks, chat, catch up at least once a week. It works well for us.

I'm always surprised relationships like this actually work, I generally don't spend much time with people I don't have things in common or share similar interests.

I think the key is even though we have nothing in common, besides our family, or share interests, I still try to show interest in his stuff when we chat about things we are doing kwim? Truth be told, I think I would get pretty annoyed if we found ourselves doing stuff together all the time. Even a trip to the shops together leaves me all tizzed sometimes. :p
