You have a nice function coming up, where people are expecting you to bring someone with.. Problem is you don't have anyone..

Last one was somewhat uncomfortable. Ended up going alone..and ja... awkward..

I think I may need to make a plan. Quick.

Dress up a blow up doll

Last time I did that - by the time I got to a friend's house, it was deflated!!

Escorts are a bit.... 'los'. Dunno, but I recon 'lone ranging' may be the best way for the moment.

I mean I'm no cassanova, so ja.. a month and a bit is a bit - short notice..
:D

A month? Dude that's not short notice.

Bro, it's short notice for a boertjie boy like me. We take our time.
The french do a short 2min foreplay then BAM!
The British don't get none.

Afrikaners take it slow. Kinda like a walrus's courtship. Slow is good. Good is sexy. Sexy is all you need.
:D

Blind/1st date? -no i don't mean a blind chick lol tho maybe just make sure etc-

A month is long time still..

Take another friend with you who doesn't drink. Then get drunk.

I don't see what people's need is to have an SO at a function. It's suppose to be fun. So what if you can't dance or whatever, that's what the food and bar is for... plus. If you're alone, you can smooch on anyone you want...

par the end part i agree with most of that statement.

Go alone. This isn't the 1920's anymore. You don't have to be married by 21.

Failing that, I say borrow Garyvdh's sock puppets:D

Ask a friend. Doesn't have to be a 'date'.
My matric dance date was organised in less than a month with a girl I didn't even know before. And she was an Afrikaans girl so "Afrikaners take it slow" is no excuse :p

I don't get the "taking it slow" thing. You're asking someone to come to an office party - not to have your babies. It doesn't even need to be a date. If you don't have any female friends then just go alone or with a male friend.

alot of guys these days dont even have girls as friends.

I have one or two i can rely on but they study out of town so if i was to go to a function like the OP i would probably be pretty f@#$ed myself.Good luck dude
