Basically.. what are the requirements for a successful relationship.

Answer the question for three categories.

13 - 17 years old.

18 - 24 years old

and

lastly.. 24+ I guess.

Differences etc what u think. What are mens requirements vs womens requirements at the different levels.

13-17
Men - Someone to do menial things with such as going to movies. Sex may be an expectation for the older individuals in the category.
Woman - Same as above, but perhaps less likely to expect sex.

18-24
Men - Pretty much just sex, but some guys are ready to settle down in their early 20's.
Woman - Sex + the (sometimes foolish) expectation that the relationship will last long enough to become meaningful.

24+
Men - Depending on the maturity of the male in question the need for sex should compliment the need for a meaningful connection.
Woman - Marriage and kids. Now..or you don't love me

Actually the law has changed, its now considered statutory rape, and if consent was involved, then the girl can also be charged with statutory rape.

The bottom line is, stop dropping your panties/pants. The day you are responsible enough to accept the consequences of your actions then you can go get frisky.

Regarding the opening topic : Under 17 should not be in a relationship, 18 to 24 I think its more to do with the physical, and in that lies the attraction, but after that its more personality and compatibility.

With me...its one thing.....FOOD!!!! My wife is an amazing cook, so I know where my bread is buttered, oh yes and she can tolerate me which is a big plus

18-24 (Im there now) - Good companionship. Must be less demanding and allow you some space when you need it. Money is tight and stress is high as you take the full brunt of the big bad world so if the partner makes it any worse then it ain't working.

I was 21/22 going out with a 17y/o. Our needs were totally different and although the relationship lasted more than a year it ended quite abruptly. If I didn't sms her a million times a day and go out to have fun every so often then it meant I did not care enough.

Now going out with a 21y/o who is very mature personality wise. I'm taking it very easy on my side but she still thinks the world of me I have space if I need it and we have great fun together as well.

This sounds about right.

My relationship atm is a bit different. The companionship is nice, and we cant really wait to see each other each week (shes 1 end of JHB, I'm in the other )

Actually, you reminded me of a very important point here. As you get older, your needs change and at a certain age, especially in the modern world, your realize that a relationship needs to be mutually beneficial. Both parties need to have something to offer. If your relationship is lopsided, it'll lead to resentment, which is obviously not a good thing.

Truth is, women work just as hard as men nowadays and they are perfectly capable of taking care of themselves. Well, most of them. Having a paying job and being able to provide for her is not enough anymore. Same goes for women though. Don't expect to enter a relationship with the pretense of sitting on your arse and watching TV all day while hubby sweats away at the office. Because divorce is not such a big taboo anymore, people feel empowered to demand that their needs are met. If not, they simply move on.
