In South Africa we are generally used to bad service. But if we had the power to create the perfect ISP, what would you wish for?

Haha! I might just take my one-man-band and start a new one - if your ideas are innovative enough! Power to the people! :p

Here you go people! Some questions that might shed some light!

1. What do you feel is your Internet Service Provider's strength?

2. What do you feel is your Internet Service Provider's weakness?

3. What will make you switch?

the perfect isp would offer uncapped access at true broadband speeds for no more than $30USD per month.i don't see that happening here so i'll degrade my wants. for south africa i want an isp that is more on par with other developing countries as far as caps and prices go.

1 Monopoly - Overpriced
2 Monopoly - Underprovides
3 Great service and easy access to shops like telkom has in most malls

But to make it really worth your while, do what Vodacom/Mtn did.
Once you've made yourself a base in the higher end of the market with contracts and steady cashflows, target the lower end (real growth opportunity).
But you would first need to bring in some(millions actually) cheap pcs and bundle them together.
Voda/MTN was great at this, thats why SA has one of the highest rates of cellphones per capita in the world!
