portcullis - a nice solid brace and not an Ellies Electronics TV special

See that UT7 on the top of the pole?

There's a lot of money in that box. It's not being blown away by the southeaster or the northwester ;)

I've used two of these http://www.scoopdistribution.co.za/product_info.php?cPath=39_71&products_id=658 against a wall once or twice when mounting 3m galvanised poles. So far, none have been blown down.

I've found the "trick" lies in proper bracing. Whenever I mount something heavy on a wall, I always drill holes through the wall, use threaded rod and put a spreader plate / brace on the inside.

There is no way that this is going to stay up if only supported by six carriage bolts.

US$2,500 back in 1998.

The whole thing was done professionally. Engineer's certificate, 25 year warranty on the galvanising and it's still standing today looking as good as the day it went up.

Call Tim at Scoop. They have some lattice towers that are taking up space in their warehouse.

This 6m pole is against the side of a building with that big frame to brace it against wind. The aerials at the bottom point to high sites / backbone links while the ones at the top are for clients. We've still got to bolt a couple of sectorals on to complete the installation.

Kilos, Uniterm tell me those cameras are winging their way to SA. I'm looking forward to getting one and putting it up against the Miro one.

I have spoken to Tim and he says that the tower is not porperty of scoop and some other guy. And he think that that person will ask R12000 a piece. There is three piecies. 3x3 meter

I dont think there is any funds available at the moment so this project will have to wait. My signal went from bad to worse. Now it is between -86 and -92. Tranfer rate is 333kb to 544kb.
