What does Telkom need to do?

Hi all, I’ve been a Telkom customer for three years now, like many I chose based on the cheap data Telkom offers and as we all know the value we get is exactly what we pay for. My question is, what does Telkom need to do in order for the network to be on par with Vodacom and MTN? I know nothing of how telecommunications work, is it just a matter of installing more towers? How much do they cost? Is it just upgrading their existing infrastructure? Why not start with one province at a time? Increase your consumer base and loyalty and spread out? It seems weird that every year that goes by the network issues just keep increasing. Please be free to get technical, I just want to learn. Thank you kindly!
