This is what I see what does it mean?

Shaping Policy: 12.5% Download/ 6.25% P2P

It means that you have 12.5% of your full line speed available for http downloads and 6.25% of your full line speed available for torrent/newsgroup downloads.

This after downloading only 25GB for the month? Hmm that does not sound right? For R700 per month? It certainly does not feel like I'm only getting 1.25 Mb/s...

The amount you've downloaded doesn't make much difference. It's about the current real time capacity of the IPC.

Ahh so this will be applicable for all Afrihost clients on this package then? Regardless.

And that is why I went from Afrihost uncapped to capped

I see they have 300GB for R599 I don't think we ever even download that much a month. Maybe I should try it instead? No shaping etc? Bit cheaper than the R797 I'm paying now for 10Mb uncapped.

Capped products are typically not shaped unless there are internatiomal connection problems. Example cuts in the seacom cable.

Capped can also be affected if your exchange is congested.

But otherwise it works well.

Hi all,

I'm currently experiencing incredibly low speeds even though my speed test runs at 3.4mb. In clientzone I see this:

Shaping Policy: 18.8% Download/ 6.25% P2P

Reading above, it means my line runs at 6.25% of it's full speed for torrents etc.? Is there any way to change this, I have really not used that much at all!

It's not worth the money for this extreme shaping, surely?
