I am looking for a new dsl modem with wifi router. The problem is that I have a fairly old dsl-modem-wifi-router at home. I set it to bridged mode so that I can use RouteSentry with two PPPoE connections. My current modem doesn't take a default username and password if I have it in bridged mode. So my mobile phone cant connect to my wifi network at home as it does not support PPPoE.

Which Router would you guys recommend that does allow you to set a default connection(for non PPPoE devices) AND allows PPPoE?

You are looking for a router that does PPPoE passthrough or half-bridge mode. That is, it will do its own PPPoE connection but will also allow PPPoE connections made from other machines.

I just sold my trusty WRT54GL broadband router running DD-WRT and gatecrasher's script. It ran multiple accounts using that script and did all the local/international routing. You will need to keep your current modem in bridged mode though as the WRT54GL does not have a modem in it. Just a wifi/broadband router.

Never checked if the WRT54GL can do half-bridge though. I immediately flashed it with DD-WRT.

I think the ZyXEL P660R would have it.

Thank TheRift, half-bridge sounds like what I need. I'll have a look at the Zyxel.
