What DStv is doing about repeats

They'll cut the fibre every time a repeat is scheduled?

That's a silly move. Removing channels because of repeats. And the repeats complaints mostly come from people who don't even have Dstv.

Why replace channels? Its the content that's the issue, different channel name, same BS

My favourite channel is Ignition TV and repeats there are driving me crazy, the first step is a good one, now they should add more quality shows to the remaining channels because repeats are still continuing unabated there.

DSTV bombards viewers with teasers ever 12 minutes. To the extent that I absolutely cringe when, while watching Victoria I see a dozen teasers interrupting viewing. Clearly they are filling time to save cost. Multi choice lost more than 200 000 subscribers in the last year. Speaking for myself Im not going to stay unless they make a change. Imagine the losses, at R800 per month 100 000 lost subscribers is equal t R80 000 000 lost revenue PER MONTH. R960 000 000 loss per year.

WAKE UP MULTICHOICE. TIME TO DELIVER.

What I find infuriating is that they will show, say season 5 and season 9 of mythbusters simultaneously on a channel like Discovery family. Then when those seasons end, they restart them again and my season recording records the beginning episodes again that I have seen already and deleted. Then there is no warning when old repeat seasons are beginning at Episode 1. You have to surf through pages of TV guide every day to spot them. They never advertise old seasons starting from Episode 1 but we must watch endless infuriating promo's twenty times a day for a new show starting in like a month's time. Anyway, why not show season 1 and 2 and then 3 and 4 and then 5 and 6 and then 7 and 8 in pairs if you must and then stagger the repeats of seasons properly? It makes no sense.

They also repeat random seasons of popular shows like SNL when the live "up to date" seasons are on a break. This is maddening as I have no idea what the date of the airing is and what season is the "latest" season. I end up recording old seasons that I have seen already. Give us some indication of when the original airing happened? (If they do, I missed it, forgive me).

Unfortunately, a long standing argument about the way in which series recording has been set up on the PVRs ..... as well as how the EPG guides work on the decoders. The search functionality available on the decoders has never really worked too well either.

Is Discovery content dictated by Mnet or by Discovery?

Is Discovery content dictated by Mnet or by Discovery?

Another long standing argument .....

Mnet will claim they "control" content when it suits them to claim responsibility, and then in the very next breath, will try and wash their hands of all responsibility. The reality is that Mnet have zero editorial say over content on most channels except their own channels.

I get that channels do dictate content, but where is the intelligence in this damn Explora decoder that can mitigate my gripes?

What are these other channels they are adding? It sounds like this African kack channels. Tsek.
