Received an email saying I will receive a "Telkom integrated sim Free. take your Internet wherever you are when your DSL line is not working, you can use it on your mobile device, dongle etc"

So what is it exactly?

Thanks MickeyD, but still not sure how it like works. I'm on uncapped data.

Is this like mobile data that I have to pay for?

As I understood it, if your DSL service is offline you can use your DSL data on the mobile SIM service.

Ah I see, this does sound cool. Hopefully it works with uncapped, i'll get the card soon.

Good luck getting it activated. Had mine for weeks now and nobody at Telkom can seem to help.

If you on uncapped the letter you receive with the sim states you cap depend on your line speed 2 Mbps 1 GB and 1 night surfer , 4 Mbps = 2GB 10Mbps = 5gb and it goes to higher line speeds same cap for nigh surfer, all figures are for March ,Telkom sates you will be informed what the benefits are before the end of March 2016

It works any time, irrespective of the dsl service

Pm Telkom za with your landline number or Telkom username , will take time but eventually replies

I am using this I have 100GB capped data and it gets shared between the adsl and sim card, I am connecting at LTE speed on the sim, so basically when the 100Gb is up it is up, On uncapped it is only about 2-3Gb but on capped you get the amount.Promotion ends end of this month.

It's called marketing a backup plan because your primary service hardly works at all.
