What foods to try

Hey all,

So I recently moved from the UK (about 3 months ago) to SA. I was born here, but I moved to the UK at a really young age.

So now that I ak here, i would like to try some of the delicacies that SA has to offer.

I have not tried anything yet, so I am open to the optons available.

Any suggestions?

The steak here is miles better than most of the steak you will find in the UK.

A gatsby is nasty cheap polony, hardly SA's best. Any UK curry will make a local one look very pale in comparison.

Try Koeksisters. The Woolworths ones are not bad.

A decent milk tart. Not from a supermarket if you can help it. It resembles an English custard tart.

Bobotie is very nice. It's a Malay sweet mince curry version of a Shepherd's pie. Derived from a UK dish actually.
