What format for HTPC?

What format would you recommend for ripping DVD's for playback on an HTPC (Raspberry Pi)? I don't want to lose ANY quality so at the moment I'm simply ripping a full ISO image of the disc. Is this the optimum solution or is there something else I should be doing?

Btw you can use dvd shrink to play around with the sizes and compression of the iso images. But in my experience the 4.2gb (enough to fit on a single layer dvd) are just perfect.
