Hi there

This ugly thing keeps popping up in my garden. Can someone tell me what it i? Is it dangerous? It looks like evil incarnate.

Native to Australia but has shown up in this country...does it smell of rotting meat?

If you look at the description

"Like them it bears its spores in a brownish slime which smells of faeces or carrion and attracts flies, which spread the spores. "

That could be the black part from the OP pic...
