Lets say in a.....long time from now - all is well and we've just embarked on our first uncapped intl account for like R200.

What do you think would happen to the host of servers out there?

I reckon.....that we're gonna clog them up them up like we've done to our local version! :p :D

South African users - once released - are going to cripple the web! :D

Lets hope the Japs move on their new protocol swiftly - the world might just need a back-up - cos we gotta catch up! :D :p ;)
 
Somehow the rest of the world manages and the internet survives. ;)

International servers are a bit more jacked up than our 'Clogged' local ones are
 
@Shake&Bake, you have gotta be joking, with the insignificant amount of SA users compared to the rest of the world they won't even notice that we've been "released" as you put it.
 
I gave up waiting for that day a long time ago. I have limited myself to more probable, though highly unlikely, possibilities such as a 10GB account for R200 or even just the abolishment of the "line rental" charge.

You are wise my friend. There is no way we will get anything close to R200 uncapped international any time soon. Granted, we don't seem to be getting anything anytime soon. But when it does change, it will be more along the lines of R250 - R300 for 10 Gigs. We will not be too flabbergasted by the offers. Unfortunately.

You all do realise that I was being sportingly sarcastic with my statement - this is a fun thread! :D Lets hope we can break it! (The web that is) :D
 
At this point I am grateful for even the smallest price reduction.

It is extremely sad how we, as South Africa's primary ADSL users, have become so jaded to our situation that we meet with excitement broadband offerings that would send the residents of any other country flying into economic turmoil and revolution.
 
China had started with their construction for the new high speed undersea cable to USA, which has a bandwidth of 5120gigs per second. And costs around 500 million USD

yeah, dont think we'll do damage to int hosts, but we'll sure max all our int links. :)
