What have I missed?

I just got my hands on my first PC in about 10 years that can actually play modern games. I haven't gamed much since UT 2003 was all the rage.

What should I try, what have I missed? I'm open to all Genres.

My specs are:

Core i7
16GB Ram
Geforce 750.

Why did you buy so much ram and an expensive cpu(if 3rd or 4th gen i7) but then a weak graphics card compared to the cpu and ram?
Since the graphics card is the most important part for gaming.

Its actually a laptop that ill use for primarily for virtualization work (needs lots of RAM), the GFX card just happen to come along with it.

Not really that important for games though, unless you have a 512GB or 1TB SSD.
