This is something I should start thinking about and thought someone might advice me accordingly.

I plan to get the iPad 3 when in lands in SA and pass my iPAD 2 on to my wife. How do I give her my Ipad without my apps and how to I get all my apps on my new iPAD (syncing should be in order, I suppose)? When there are mutual apps I recon we can just log onto each others profile and download...>?

Data wise (I am at VODACOM) I'll just get an extra data sim and she can share my 2gigs every month.

My friend is going to Germany during April, fingers crossed that it will be launched that time and that there's going to be STOCK!!!

  1. Basically you can have a separate iTunes account for her (i.e. clear separation between your apps and hers -- negative is potentially paying twice for the same app),
  2. or you can choose to have both iPads on the same iTunes account (this will still allow you to customise what apps are on each device),
  3. or you could load multiple accounts onto an iPad (don't recommend this as it's a pain when receiving updates)
My recommendation is to share a single account (makes most sense re you're married); customised each iPad separately.

As per recommemdation, use one iTunes account for both devices, and customise each separately (apps, music, email, ...)

There will be a slight delay, as is the case with every new release... plus much of the stock might be taken up by pre-orders... good luck hope your friend is successful.

I have multiple accounts that both our first and second gen ipads are authorised to use. For the older account we use iTunes to handle updates while the newer account is managed on the devices themselves. Both devices sync automatically via wifi when they're plugged in to charge so it all works pretty smoothly.
